There is no rule of thumb or Ten Commandments, when it comes to becoming successful in life. Overall, we tend to do things that are known to work or else model ourselves from someone who has achieved.

That’s why advertising budgets seek out those that have achieved, as if the mere assignment of product or service will bring us closer to an elusive pinnacle.

In the home based business arena, there are paths that can make you amazing incomes but these are not easily taken. Think about it, when one removes all of the hype and genuinely looks at those who have made success their enterprise. Ask yourself with full honesty, “do you have what it takes”? Here are some useful and possibly energizing facets that might just tantalize your thoughts.

Rule of the farm

Farmers do it and Jesus taught this to his disciples. “As we sow, so shall we reap”. The undeniable principle is that success will not come overnight. It’s got nothing to do with nightly prayers (definitely couldn’t hurt though). And it’s got nothing to do with watching others become successful. What it does have to do with is consistent work and effort - day in and day out. Farmers tend to their crops every single day without fail, and when the time comes, they reap the benefits of their efforts.

The very next “packaged” get rich program that you see, just spare a thought because it may well turn out that you are looking at the seeds someone else has sown and you may feel compelled to enlist and help them reap their returns.

Success is like that. Continuous and consistent effort makes a world of difference for the person that has sowed the seeds.

Shortcuts, there are none

There are journeys and there are longer journeys but the harsh truth is that one needs to travel a path - there are no shortcuts. The length of the journey is a direct result of the level of commitment and effort one puts into becoming successful. The harder you try, the shorter your journey. Stick to your strengths because those invariably will get you where you need to go faster. Shortcuts often lead to disappointments. While luck may have something to do with becoming successful, shortcuts will always cause you some level of distress.

Keeping track

While the mental state of a person says a lot about becoming successful, the physical act of a person does make a difference too. Have a plan, keep to it and track your efforts. Keeping track of the things that you do and the success rate of those efforts will help you understand what’s working and what’s not. And during this journey of yours, you can fine tune your plan and map out the route that plays toward your strengths. The better you adapt and change according to circumstance and requirement, the faster you will get to where you want to go.

Creativity is your greatest tool; it individualizes the path that you travel. When you create you separate, you brand and distance yourself from everyone else. Take the series of Harry Potter books and movies; these would be less viewed if not for a wonderful creativity, alive on every page. Make your path something that everyone would visit, something that attracts visitors by word of mouth.

Keep positive - ditch the negative

Easier said than done – I hear you all saying! Perhaps, but any effort will give you immediate returns. First off, start by eliminating negative influences in your life. Once the negatives are out, it’s easier for you to become positive. Surround yourself with things that benefit you, and hang out with positive, successful or success-minded people. Learn to embrace the positive….let them influence you and inspire a greater creativity.

What started out as?????

It’s easy for any single one of us to get distracted in the middle of the journey, no matter how gung-ho we started out. If we lack any real sense of what we initially intended to achieve then the distractions appear as our paths of travel. Remember your starting vision!

Relive how you started, you’re excited and raring to go; towards the middle, it gets harder and you’re struggling to remember exactly why you started. And when you get to the hardest part, the vital leg in any journey, a place where focus and endurance are trumps. It’s like trying to climb Mount Everest. In order to be successful, you have to consistently work towards a goal, make an effort to remember a goal and repeatedly psyche yourself up for it every single day. Only then, will the peak become attainable and only then, will the view and achievement make the trip worthwhile. Once you've had the experience, you'll be forever looking toward the next conquest.

Hey, has anyone seen the movie “Primer”, as yet? Well, it’s doesn’t actually matter one way or the other but it’s always useful if you can use a picture as the basis of a concept to reference in your mind. That way you can replay from a point of experience rather than invent a new wheel. Of course, you’re entitled to play it back any way you would want, add your very own twists and an ending of choice. Certainly, it makes the understanding of a similar themes go way smoother. Anyway, let me unfold a quick outline and I’ll move on to the reason I’m writing this in such a fashion.

I don’t intend that you should not go and see the movie but briefly, it’s about two guys who portray as two hard nosed, young engineers, working in a large corporation by day and conducting experiments in their home's garage at night. One evening, while tweaking a device they’ve created, they stumble on a means of reducing the mass of an object. In doing so, they discover a unique opportunity which remarkably changes their lives in unimaginable ways. That’s in the storyline of course and you’ll need to go and see the movie to get anything further but I wanted to borrow one or two of its themes.

Okay the first theme is simply this - when working projects, sometimes a discovery that offers high value can easily be turned aside as a mere side–effect. That old adage you can’t see the jungle because of the trees comes to mind. The second theme is that prototypes rarely happen with neon lights and chrome. Let’s face it, when you first create something you are just so doggone keen to roll it out and give it a whirl that you are rarely worried about how it looks.

For those of you who are business oriented, working project after project is a fact of life. You may very well see these two themes in your own work. The reason I'm writing this is there’s something I recently became involved with that I’d like to openly endorse because it smacks of value and I wouldn't want you to push this aside as one of those side effects. You would all well know the myriads of new programs that you can stumble across.

Well, stumble no further! If you really want to induct a solid program into your existing ensemble, right now you should be getting that mouse button primed. Take Charge of Your Life

Anyone can take charge of their life and there's no more magic to this act than simple common sense. There's at least one inbuilt trait, ready and raring to go, that resides within all of us as a dormant strength. Something we do particularly well. The unfortunate accompanyment is a complex and busy life style that all but flattens any exploration into what that strength might be.

Have you ever thought how great it is when a sense of achievement lights you up from within? What gives us that euphoria in doing something and doing it well? Even further, that you actually dabble with that same something all day every day. Well, lets not overlook our modern day warriors - alive and well in the sporting arena. They know their measure, a skill, an ability, to be able to read a game or just exert sheer athletic prowess to achieve an aim. These are hardly unexplored strengths, indeed they are honed from the very first time someone sights even a modicum of the required talent.

Can you say right now what is important in your life? And if you could answer that question would you be willing to pursue it? Consider how you would feel to be able to progress your strength and make your existence abound from it.

In important ways we create ourselves from what we do well and it stands to reason if we can apply those same abilities to the cyber-world then we not only extend our own well-being but we create a value for others. Perhaps that value can even give the edge on the many programs that are out there but of someone else's creation. Put it this way, if you are out there and taking no responsibility then you won't know your particular strength and you truly can't appreciate achievement.

Getting started is the hardest thing, what to do when, in what order - and where. It's the old story - the law of inertia. An object at rest takes a whole lot of energy getting underway but you get it moving and watch how easy it trucks on. Make any decision instead of catching the proverbial ride and that's got to be a step in the right direction.

Ambition - Keep It In Check

Ambition is a truly wonderful attribute to have in your tool box and you can see vestiges of it in every walk of life. What it heralds is people on the move and going places and by wielding this tool, they carve out their niche for all to see. We can allocate it names, like "resourceful" and "leadership", which are simply terms re-used enough times so as to strike a like chords in all of our minds; that success might just lie at the end of a journey for those that demonstrate such traits. Hold onto that thought because how folks achieve is not openly understood as much as the fact that they do so.

What I'd like to relate here are some thoughts about organization and internet sanity. You see, I'm reasonably new to this game of Web Sites and Marketing and the idea that any sanity exists is something that I never really stopped to consider.

I can cast my mind back to something my dad used to tell me, which was aimed at making sure a growing lad had the necessary disciplines with which to attack life. He was always most passionate about this and there's definitely some of that passion that has washed off on me. In his words he would tell me, "do whatever it is you want to do but when you're doing it, you better be giving it your best shot". Perhaps instinctively he had in mind what many go to great lengths to put into words and describe for these times.

Where this is going is that I have been trying to do much in the hope of detecting some advantage in one course of action that actually has merit over others. In the end the answer was always staring me in the face and it was not what I had thought it should have been, nor what I had set out to achieve. I guess experience is the great teacher and I give you this so you can make the connection without living the ordeal.

Keep things simple and concentrate on one goal at a time. In other words, do whatever you take on well but don't take on too much.

As I set out to say above, you don't actually see the path that ambitious folks take but the lessons could well lie in their individual journeys. Rather than try to do too many things at once, some quality and attention on each thing that you do can give you that edge you need to succeed. Take any program you're into and really get to know it inside and out so you can do it without thinking. Once you have that kind of familiarity you can build from that to anywhere you want to go. You understand the essence of its workings, its becomes repeatable and you can then naturally extend yourself to make your use of it incrementally better.

I'm now taking things slowly and concentrating on a few goals to make them work for me rather than me ending up working for them. And yes, I believe those words of guidance once spoken to me have been renewed but this time bearing an internet relevance. So, when I say to you, "Do whatever it is you need to do, and do it well" I trust that you will look with new purpose at what you are doing.

Do You Want to Dance or Sit This One Out

Hi Folks,
Happy Easter one and all and I trust that you’re able and spending some quality time with family and friends. I would do so myself but this year I’m somewhat remote, which allows me the opportunity to get this read underway.

I have in fact left you in relative peace for a while but wanted to get some enthusiasm happening now; reignite some passion you might say. Not mine, because I think that’s working nicely.

After all, it is ones lifestyle that’s all important and that’s exactly where I’m coming from. Starting your own business will get you that.

A word to the wise though, you won’t get too far if you hop into the next automated package and believe that will make your fortune. No question, you may make some money but this is someone else’s created value and you're working it. Your satisfaction will come only once you learn to create your own value!
Let me explain…..

I am assuming, and usually that’s not the best way to start, but if you are reading this newsletter then you’re interested in becoming financially and lifestyle independent. Well yes, you can make a few bucks on the side and I guess that might be attractive to some but perhaps that should be your starting goal.

Let me put it to you this way, by building something with value you actually get more than just money as the output. You see, once you have an income trickling in, you can concentrate on projects that are about what you want to do. When you get to that phase, you’d be surprised just how quickly momentum turns in your favor and your trickle turns to a river or rivers.

Even then you don't quite achieve the ecstasy of the end game! The most satisfying outcome from having your own business is that you get the opportunity to pick exactly what it is that’s a part of your being and creating value with it.

Forget working nine to five in doing something that you really don’t have a stake in, and no matter what you might do there's no real way to improve things or add value. The kicker is that once you are doing exactly what you like to do, then you will naturally find new ways of creating value. And that, fine people is what sells.

You may have seen this expressed in different ways, such as; targeting customer’s problems or creating a niche, even offering free gifts and training. At the end of the day, all of these outputs spell VALUE. If you have it and you create it, then marketing is a breeze.

So, today I wanted to suggest some entry level activities that will certainly get the ball rolling. Remember, anyone can do anything but we are all different. That’s why I introduce the opportunity and don’t expect stampedes. If what I present suits your plans and talents, then I hope you soar with the opportunity. This is really only seeding the ground.

Action is not thinking, feeling or postulating, it is what you intend to physically do. Don’t get caught up in distractions because the actions you take will mean either achieving or failing.

Develop for yourself a quick chart with results you need to achieve on the right side and the actions you need to take on the left side. Check your work and see if better sequences might produce quicker results. Once you’re finished, use it and take those actions and measure the results. This where your tools need to enter into your enterprise.

Understand that the characteristics of action and motivation go hand in hand. You would not be looking for motivation in feelings and thoughts just the same as you wouldn’t find actions there. Focus on what you need to do to get your results and firmly apply those actions.

Keep it simple sweet! Don’t overcomplicate actions and make it easy to duplicate what you are doing.

You will face uncertainty in your journey. Keep your thoughts on your results and above all, look and act to radiate optimism. Everyone you deal with will pick up on what you do and how you do it. This is viral and you must keep positive to get positive responses.

Fear is natural and it grows with challenges. We cannot defeat fear but if you follow your chart of actions you will meet any challenge. Most people will fall away if they don’t define what they wish to achieve, so have it branded in your mind. Your actions and results are your champion over any fear.

Above all….. make a start!

Paths – which road will you take?

Want the productivity and return on investment that makes your On-Line business enjoyable? There is a core undisputed law to marketing and that is you must “provide a solution” to someone in order that a market exist.

After that, the means for how you create your life on the web really are about you and what creativity you can sow. Find your niche and the efforts you take will be productive and even enthusiasm building. Get it wrong and you’ll be deflated and hoping.

The art of starting

The Art of Recruiting

I believe this is as important a skill as any you will need because if you’re in the game of selling digital products you will need a list. You can’t just go out and tell the world what you have for sale because the SPAM Nazis will have you disbanded quicker than downing a beer on a hot day.

A list is fine if you have something for them to follow but that’s not what most are set up to do. For example, to attract a list clientele you need some value that they can use in order that they take the effort to read your ravings.

Hi,

Well, here we are post Halloween and with Thanksgiving just around the corner. I trust you all enjoyed the opportunity to be out and about and exercised some of that creativity to seriously enhance the Halloween ocassion.

It's a time of changes at present with weather and lifestyle leading the way. That's possibly not the best time for the more non transitory nature of maintaining or indeed starting your business presence.

So, the opportunity presents therefore for my spreading the seed from whence can spawn the foundation of a business enterprise.

Lets take it away then with my best value recommendations.

Fine tune your Site but also experiment with future Sites that can better articulate the core ingredient that makes such ventures successful……. value!

Sounds simple yes, but it requires a two way obligation and, you need to give before you start receiving. Bottom line, once you start receiving it becomes a self generating vehicle that is mutually helpful and thereafter you can grow. I guess that’s when the fun really starts.

You're finally at a point where enjoyment of your enterprise really builds, and yes you’re actually making money but more importantly, you’re creating value and that’s what makes your enterprise worthwhile.

If you’re new to Web Site businesses, you may not yet be aware that there’s always a new secret marketing aid being developed and made available ….. nearly every day of the week.

I’d be one of many that could point out who the target group is for all of these hidden treasures and industrious salespeople. But if you’re reading this, then take a bow and a large step forward!
You are in fact the “demand” component of the supply that’s being generated.

So how can you brand? Well, you can brand by the content you provide, the style and lay out of your Web Site, even the Blog or Ezine you might consider offering. Have a look around because most of those entities that have a presence do so because they have already developed their brand.

You’ll be far more noticeable if you create something for yourself and definitely, if it’s from the outset.

By way of example, let me indulge with a quick story… tangent.

There’s a huge red rock located in the middle of Australia that was at one time known as Ayers Rock. More recently it has adopted the term Uluru.

The rock and the country around it belong to a group of Aboriginal people called Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara.

Try saying those names quickly and you’ll understand what tongue tied means.

So, the people also have been renamed and are referred to as Anangu because it’s easier.

These people have a history rich in story and in this case they identify the various faces of the rock using that approach.

One saga goes something like this………A long, long time ago, in the time of the Tjukurpa, which the Aborigines call the dreamtime, the animals gave shape to the rock.

There was a young woma python, or Kuniya, that was passing by and was surprised by a group of Liru, which are venomous snakes.

Kuniya, not being from that area, was affronted by the Liru who threw spears at the python and killed him.

So hard did they throw their spears that the points made holes in the rock.

The Pythons ancestor, also a Kuniya, was so angered by this that he killed one of the Liru with a stick.

So, on the west face of the rock there are holes that are said to be from the points of the Lirus’ spears and on the south face of the rock, Kuniya the woma python can still be seen as a dark wavy line on Uluru.

Now the story in itself doesn’t mean a whole deal but if you are ever able to visit Uluru, you will happen to find a south and a west side of the rock that now has individuality because it’s been branded.

To any one else this is simply a rock but to you, you now know there exists Western and Southern rock walls that hold special understandings.

These are unique and remembered even if not in the original light.

A Wee Bit On Positive Thinking

There is a place in the Northern Hemisphere where the night time dark remains most of the year and the sky is showcased by a flickering light show. You would all know this well as the Northern Lights.

This is the Artic at its very best and worst because the cold and winds collaborate to bring together one of the harshest environments one could imagine. It speaks well of the humanity who dwell there, albeit few in number, that they thinkingly celebrate each years return of what begins as a 4 month long sunny period.

This one occasion warrants attention and a special holiday so with deck chairs resplendent, the locals champion the cold to casually gather and watch the sun make its first tentative 25 minute pass of many more appearances. So begins day one of a very short summer, and with a community revitalized by sunlight, they party with every bit as much lunacy as any new years eve.

So, what is it that makes a people remain and challenge the very hardships such a place holds? That they should muster time and again some inner fortitude to while away those sub zero temperatures. That out of all places one could end up, for whatever reason, they choose to eke out an existence in one of the bleakest landscapes on our Earth?

The mind is a truly wonderful mechanism and when called upon, can adapt to just about any situation shaping the very best outcomes for those with a purpose. The thing is, and it's in each of us, it’s entirely up to us how we control and apply our minds.

There are lots of external factors and most of those you'll have absolutely no control over, like the number of times you might see the sun in a year, for example. The way you look at these challenges is everything and the more positive and confident you feel within yourself the better your likely prospects. But that's not the entire picture.

Think back to that last time you felt over the moon about something you did exceptionally well, and it doesn't necessarily need to be as a result of any particular effort on your part. I'm sure you've been there, in that place where you're on pure adrenalin because something has gone unbelievably well. Ready to take on any challenge. That hole in one on the golf course or at least a no effort golf swing that travels for miles or even that special result in an exam.

Now imagine if you could apply that same euphoria to everyday happenings. Well, there's nothing that your mind won't accept if it's repeated often enough over and over. Problem is that we generally tend to focus on the not so good. There it is in a nutshell, what your mind is used to seeing is how it will ultimately operate. I mean to say, how would you cope at our earlier sun watching celebration if the cold was too much of a challenge?

Giving up is not something I really have in me and it really stems from wanting to change and improve things until I'm happy with them. I mention this because if you're starting out in a business there will be times of frustration where you'll think nothing is working or going right. Bottom line though, you can only get better. From where ever it is that you actually start, the chances are you will only get better, and over time most always you will improve further.

It's fairly important then to apply as many of those good things that make us see that special place, into our normal day to day thinking; so that they then become the normal rather than highlights. A series of hole in ones if you will.

This applies not only in your business dealings mind you, but into every facet of living because it's exactly this mindset that uplifts and brings success. The trick is to place it on auto pilot and keep it there.

So if you ever need a reference to stay your mind from an unshakeable negative, spare a thought for our erstwhile inhabitants in our Artic North and find yourself a better place that works for you.

Take a few minutes each hour and progressively go over all of those things that are good and right with you. In no time at all you'll have that sun coming up at the end of a long hard winter....and it will be all that you see. Apply that to your business and there's no conceivable frustration that will derail you from getting ahead.

Tough Break

I've had myself something of a challenge last week and I hope you haven't had or get to see a similar problem. Seems I managed to get some spyware cleverly lodged in a register on my computer, one of those breeds that keeps re-writing itself no matter how many times it gets deleted. It managed to completely shut down both my internet and e-mail. Let me tell you the recovery activity took all weekend which was quite annoying to me given that the weather has been just so great.

Unfortunately, not a lot I could do so it ended up being format time for the old disk. I've got to tell you, it's in times like those that you fathom just how much software you really have horded away. Not to mention all your stored passwords, unlock keys, shortcuts and favorites. A regular fall cleaning you might say.

This incident made me recall something I was reading recently where there's now viruses out there capable of infecting portable devices. Technology has no prejudices and you can always count on ingenuity from the darker side. Just think, with the emphemeral nature of the ballooning wireless market, we're eventually going to be dealing with disparate devices all over the home so imagine what problems we might face. Watch out once we get networked homes!

Anyway, I'm back with a vengeance, loaded to the hilt with vital protection, sporting a slightly different and new look, and to be truthful, I'm loving it. Turns out the speed of my computer has reached never experienced levels and there's none of that incessant flashing lights while the processor works out what's to be done. Makes me think I should have done the big "F" some time ago. A quick tip then....make sure all of your running gear is adequately protected.

Out There With an Edge?

Right, a few words about bringing home the bacon and then I'll be out of your hair. I'm coming straight at you this time with a quick run down on multiple income streams. I thought I'd provide you with some of the lesser known details about one of the five streams that come with the "Plug in Profit" Package.

Quite naturally then, there will always appear drawbacks in whatever plan you put in motion and time is always 'not' on your side. What's really important then is that you perservere against a known plan and make those smallish changes to get ahead where you can. It doesn't take a great deal of time to start getting a feel for what works and what doesn't.

I'm going to use the venerable lobster as an analogy; why, because I can. it's exoskeleton includes the teeth that it uses to grind up food, which are located inside its stomach. The lobster has to rip that out before its free from its shell and this is part of the normal growing phase...everyone has to do it! A further trauma is that it needs to pull its claw muscles out through narrow wrists, before molting. So it's either loose weight and adapt or else risk getting stuck in its old clothes and not surviving.

Is business so different? You'll get your challenges and certainly there'll be days you'll think everything is wrong. The key is chipping away and adapting. Perhaps, the practical approach is what is all important and not wavering from what you always intended. Hopping from opportunity to opportunity. So I hope you'll consider this one take away. Breathe life into your multiple streams of income because they'll always be there to help you throughout thick or thin.

Just like our old friend the "lobster", change is part and parcel of growing and surviving. Just make sure you have some form of residual income to keep things fluid while you're making changes. A safety net if you will! A target should be to get past a break even point and where better than MD to make that happen. Four commissions and you're there. Something From Nothing - Only Carries So Far

Well, yet another week has flashed by and we're oh so quickly racing toward years end. It's been something of a hectic month and I'm guessing, you, like me, have been particularly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of business development opportunities that are currently being peddled on the internet.

No sooner does one opportunities' endorsement loom, than you're swamped with a barrage of e-mails citing the exact same opportunity as a "must have" from all points known and unknown. Yet another reason for clinging steadfast to a plan so that you don't totally get swept away in the hype.

I'm always in two minds as to whether to give these opportunities a go, thinking that I might be missing out on that elusive goldmine or that pot of gold at an opportunities end. Problem is you never really know if you don't have a go. "Once bitten twice shy", they say and I've definitely been bitten and not merely by an isolated incident. So my bent on this is simple, only as long as it marries up with a theme.

You can certainly count on a limit of liability statement and disclaimer of warranty even if not in anything else!

I've been reading a few of business magazines of late hoping to pick up a few ideas and wanted to share with you a general realization. It might strike you also should you get the time to read the same, but if not, here's a little something to consider.

Within these magazines there are passages being written continually with discussion and advice about investing as a recipe for retirement or to meet ones goals. Put a little money here, a little money there, they say, and in general you save for that rainy day, that college fund, retirement and the future. Not an altogether unwise ploy.

It's just a shame that the costs of doing day to day stuff keeps mounting and at a pace that eats up all your available income. Lets get real here... does anyone really want to simply trade today for what might happen in the future. Wouldn't it be far better to potentially increase the income of today as well as being able to invest in a future.

There are only so many ways you can slice a budget and if you're looking down the barrel at Harvard Law, owning a house as well as entertaining the notion of a comfortable retirement, then I'm thinking that it's going to take more slices than most of us hold in a loaf of bread.

To coin a phrase, "Whatever we have in life comes as a direct result of what we think and how we act". So if we are to tighten our belts and put away today for the future then that's certainly one way. Probably not the only way though!

If you don't like where you're going..... change your thinking and actions to how you would have things turn out. A simple statement yet one that underpins true success in life. The mantra within these magazines is simply scrimp and scrape and put away. That next investment opportunity complete in complications of how you grow your nest egg rather than let it shrink; and we still have those good old limits of liability.

Well there are other ways.... Multiple Residual Incomes.

So, if you can change anytime you want and noting that it doesn't need to compete with any investment opportunity, then what's at stake. Starting Out With Small Steps

Hi folks,
As you might perceive we're generally in a build up stage of getting Web Site and a whole heap of add ins sorted out and available.

Not a simple task I might add when you have glitches and knowledge gaps in just about every activity you undertake. It's like two steps forward and three steps back the whole time.

It was just yesterday I was trying to get some of my first links attached and not having done that before, seemed like a relatively easy accomplishment. Well, it didn't quite turn out that way despite a very focussed attempt.

When I went to the link Site, the information that was being asked for was somewhere else and I needed to back track to obtain it. Trouble was I had half the details filled out on the screen I had just left. When I returned the information I had earlier plugged in was gone.

If you can imagine that same outcome being played out three or four times, then you'll know just how not easy such things can be.

Dare I make the point while we're discussing this; many of these so called step by step instructions you get to purchase in software down loads suffer from the same difficulty. That is, they're fine when everything lines up with what's being discussed, but as soon as your variation pops up, you're right out of step with the step by step instructional main stream.

You then need to investigate how to change your environment to get back in step and that activity can take a long time indeed, in some cases.

Anyway, enough of that and I'm sure you would have had similar experiences. Given that this is the first release of the Edge Bulletin I wanted to check how others in the start up mode are faring. I also wanted to share a few pillar points that I've found to be quite useful.

You know, at the very beginning you're likely to become a little over awed by the amount of information that is floating around, not to mention the number of e-mails that start as a result of free information.

If you don't manage to lose your way in all of this then you're doing very well.

Of course, if you don't make any progress at all then that's fairly unfortunate because the opportunity to get a business up and running has never been better.

It's often stated that most businesses fizzle out in the first few months and I guess that's a fair call. A lot of those simply fold because of information overload or burnout from trying to cover too many strategies.

That's where I was hoping to influence your direction a little here.

There's really only three key points that I'd like you to think about and I limit to three in the hope of keeping things simple.

Those points are:

(1) Knowledge
(2) Start up Capital, and
(3) Your plan or approach.

Possibly the most important is this last one!

Lets take a quick run through these points and see how they apply to what you might be doing.

Okay, first up we have knowledge and there's plenty of that to be found and possibly even too much. You would be no stranger to the fact that there's so much available (generally under the help banner) that you find yourself going round in circles wondering what to do first and what's most important.

The point I'm trying to draw out here is that you really don't know what your particular skills are until you get started and doing something.

Let me give you an example. If you're not that good at writing then you might consider promoting your site by search engine optimization or pay per click. Naturally, the structure of your website will be highly important if that's the way you go. Traffic is everything after all!

Alternatively, you may choose an advertising campaign that stems from ezines and newsletters. If this is the way you go then your website structure is less important and you might actually save some time and effort in that department.

By the time you understand where your particular talents lie you may have already started down a path that is difficult to change. Need I say, the more knowledge you obtain then only makes this understanding chrystalize.

The second point is self explanatory and I'm sure most of us recognize that the one major limitation in making a business entrance is money. What we have to invest!

You could pay for everything to be done on your behalf or else you could be selective in what you do and achieve the outcome at very little cost.

I guess that's one of the real advantages in this type of work, anyone can have a go using what works for them, and providing you're persistent, you can do quite well.

The third point is having a plan, and again most importantly, sticking to it. You can be doing bits and pieces for a couple of years and making little money unless you have a hard and fast list of steps and a strategy in what you want to do.

The distractions that exist in this game are just unbelievable.

So now, if you throw all these factors together you should begin to understand that you need to learn some before you get too involved with setting up.

I've already learned some of these lessons and have adjusted my game plan on others. At least you now have another beginners thoughts on the more practical aspects of starting out.

I've related all of the above because I also wanted to suggest an approach. Now you may be thinking a subtle sales pitch here and that's fine. This might just work for some and I guess it may not appear that attractive to others. At least it's here in writing and available on my Site when you do eventually get around to making a decision.

Get a package and get an edge.....it's advantages are that you have a set plan to follow (comes with the package) and it's start up cost is very low. You might like the fact that you can earn an income from it while you're learning and then later customize what you have to take on the particular niche that best appeals to you. I figure this embraces all of the key points I've mentioned above.

There's lots of other options out there and some are quite well advertised also. I believe the real strength in my suggested approach is that you get a step by step guide (and it's only a guide) which sets your target and minimizes a lot of the risk.

It's there on my Site if you're looking for a great start opportunity. Take the time and have a look and decide for yourself. If you're still looking for a way to get involved in a low risk business start ..........I don't know that other options will get you this kind of start!
